Frequently Asked Questions
Ice Bath Usage
The ICEZ Ice Bath
What ages are suitable for using an ice bath? Are there any specific limitations?
There is no limitation as long as you are healthy.
Children must be accompanied by a parent and have a limit of up to one minute in the ice bath.
Of course, the child should never be forced in any way to enter the ice bath.
Is an ice bath dangerous for the body?
There is no risk of hypothermia with a short exposure of up to 5 minutes. Of course, there is no need to “push” the body beyond what it can handle.
It is important to pay attention to the correct temperature for you, as specified in the product’s instructions for use.
אמבטיית קרח אינה מתאימה לאנשים אשר יש להם לחץ דם גבוה , בעיות בלב. (במיוחד אנשים שלוקחים בטה בלוקרס).
Is a doctor’s approval required?
Ice baths are not suitable for people with high blood pressure or heart problems, especially for those taking beta blockers.
Why would someone “do this to themselves”?
Numerous studies have shown the positive effects of ice baths:
- Reduction of inflammation
- Acceleration of injury recovery
- Strengthening the immune system
- Developing cold resistance
The ice bath also serves as mental training. You stay in the bath in temporary discomfort, a place of pain, and learn how to cope with that pain.
Training with the cold helps develop resilience that assists us in facing life’s challenges.
The pain is real, but “suffering” is our choice!
Do you need to undergo training before using it?
It is recommended to attend a session with a certified instructor to learn how to practice in the most effective way.

When is the right time to use the ice bath? Before/after a workout?
This is a topic we’ve expanded into a full article. You can read more about it in the article Ice Baths for Athletes.
When using it without a chiller, how do you know how much ice to add?
Our dear friend Ofir created a very useful tool: https://nofear.co.il/ice-bath-calculator/
Keep in mind the following:
- Take the outside temperature into account – on a hot day, the water will warm up faster, so you’ll need more ice.
- The number of people immersing consecutively – each person raising the water temperature by about half a degree.
- Use of insulation – an insulated tub will keep the temperature lower for a longer period.
- Crushed ice or blocks – crushed ice cools faster but melts quickly, while ice blocks last longer.
Do you need to change the water after each use?
No, there is a filtration system, and there are also instructions for disinfecting the water.
The replacement actually depends on the number of immersions, or alternatively, after a long period of time has passed.
It is recommended to change the water every 4–12 weeks, or whenever cloudiness appears.
The filter replacement also depends on the number of baths and the hygiene of the users. The filter essentially cleans deeper impurities, oils, etc. If there are dozens of baths per week, it should be replaced monthly; if fewer, every two to three months, depending on the condition and color of the filter.
How long does it take to cool the bath to reach the minimum temperature?
In summer, when the water temperature is 25°C, it will take about two hours to reach 8°C, and an additional half hour to reach 3°C.
Does the chiller maintain the cold temperature when several people use the bath one after another?
Each bather entering a ~200-liter tank raises the temperature by about 0.5°C. Our powerful chiller can handle multiple bathers and lowers the temperature within just a few minutes.
Do you need to cover the chiller during winter?
The chiller is water-protected according to the IPX4 standard and is suitable for outdoor use.
However, it is recommended to keep it under a roof and cover it if it will not be used for an extended period.
When the chiller is covered, the power switch should be turned off and it should be disconnected from the electricity supply.
What is the difference between the ice baths offered for sale on the market and the ice baths from iceZ?
There are many differences, reflected in the materials and the quality of the bath itself.
One of the most significant differences between iceZ ice baths and other ice baths on the market is the chiller.
This thermostat is essentially the “brain” of the bath and allows:
Remote control – with iceZ ice baths, you can schedule the bath to be ready on your way home from work.
Temperature setting – you can adjust the temperature according to your preferences or for different users and exercises.
Two filters and a circulation system – keep the water clean, so the water in iceZ ice baths rarely needs to be replaced.
Which is better: an inflatable ice bath, an acrylic ice bath, or a wood‑clad ice bath?
The answer depends on your lifestyle –
If it’s important for you that the bath can “go with you” anywhere, even on vacation, an inflatable ice bath is the way to go.
If you want a home ice bath with a design that fits into a garden or wooden deck, and you don’t plan to move it regularly, a wooden ice bath could be the right choice.
In both cases, you’re getting a high-quality ice bath with an IceZ chiller.
Either way, it’s definitely wise to consult with us.
Is it also suitable for a balcony or rooftop in a multi‑story building?
Of course. A full bath plus a heavy bather is calculated at up to 300 kg, the chiller weighs 35 kg, so it’s safe to estimate a total weight of 350 kg over an area of 2 m × 1 m.
Consult with us regarding your balcony.
Is there a warranty, and what does it include?
We offer a one-year warranty on both the chiller and the ice bath, as well as their peripheral equipment, covering manufacturing defects and other issues related to normal product use.
